Questions and Answers
Why not focus entirely on a single or few communities?
“Some fish don’t mix with others” and “all great things come to end”. To preserve the exclusivity and the decentralized nature, it is best to market as many communities that demonstrate promise as possible. This will increase the odds that the community projects are able to grow organically and not take on “bad apples” determined to cause trouble.
Could this be a platform for job seekers?
Absolutely. I believe we are headed towards a world where it’s not shiny, expensive degrees or job titles that will be important but rather someone’s ability to produce a good or service—or, someone’s ability to offer value. There are millions of young minds out there with such abilities that could undoubtedly be useful and welcome in parallel society initiatives.
If people are already away from their former country, who cares about this project?
While there are many families who have left their homes upon considering everything in front of them; they may remain isolated individually. It’s great that they are not in their old country, but a more resilient approach will be to network once they are in their new location. Settlement offers this.
What would be the main costs?
The sole cost is to become a member of Settlement Member. You can pay this monthly or yearly. In additional to payment processing, I am working on being able to accept cryptocurrency and in unique situations even gold or silver.
Travel expenses will be incurred by the individual; though we’re in discussion to partnering with a travel agency.
Would this create a “target” for everybody?
The involvement of a fee for membership as well as a likely entrance for community services themselves creates a level of exclusivity. At the same time, the goal is to host as many parallel group initiatives as reasonably possible further spread out any risks. The use of corporate structures, web hosting servers and banking can be sought to minimize political risks as well.
We won’t advertise or market a community without their explicit consent to do so.
What do we want for each community?
The objective of each parallel community is to run it how they see fit. One may adopt gold as currency, another may adopt cryptocurrency; the specifics of each community is completely out of our control. Our object is to broker these connections.
What is a no-no for a community to join our platform?
We’d like to avoid associating with places that are ideologically radical to the point where their objectives are not to build a constructive, free-thinking society. Likewise, we’d avoid involving with any cult-like groups or groups that intend to recruit for violent, fanatical and/or subversive purposes.
Are you a cult?
People like categories for things, but it’s safe to say that we are not a cult nor are we promoting any cult-like group. We’re simply facilitating connections between people who generally view the world in the same sense and share their common desire for trust, safety and productivity.
Are you going to start your own community, too?
Perhaps in time. It would be very exciting. However it requires a considerable amount of focus, capital and effort. For now, my goal is to bridge you to those who are in the process of becoming (or are already) established.
Is the Settlement membership a yearly payment or monthly?
We are looking to offer both options depending on what fits best for you and your finances.
Do you accept Cryptocurrency?
We are seriously considering accepting cryptocurrency as payment. Reach out to inquire what types of coins we’re willing to accept for membership.
